Bio

Chris is a Czech American artist currently based in The Bay Area. Originally from Texas, Chris has lived in North Carolina, Colorado, California, and Czechia.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Architecture, Chris developed his craftsmanship by working in a variety of fields, including carpentry, cabinetry, antique furniture restoration, and modern furniture fabrication. During this time, he became passionate about woodworking and creating things that were site-specific.

With some practical experience under his belt, he decided to return to school to pursue a Master’s in Art. His thesis, titled “Archaeological Woodworking,” explored potential value in industrial wood waste.

Chris’ education and experience allow him to apply an analytical approach to his work, typically relying heavily on site-specific contexts to dictate the parameters of a project.
