Named after the Japanese architectural movement in the ‘60s, Metabolism is a tower-building game inspired by classics such as Tetris and Jenga.
Each player chooses a unique wood species and takes turns placing L-shaped pieces so that they touch at least one face from the other players’ pieces.
The goal is to build as high and wide as possible, with the game ending when no pieces can be played or the tower collapses.
The shape of the pieces and players’ decisions create a different tower every round. The first 9 turns from 3 different games are shown below.
